Sangeeta Katti Kulkarni

Sangeeta Katti Kulkarni popularly known as Sangeeta Katti is one of the leading Hindustani Classical Vocalists amongst the young brigade of artists in India. She was recently awarded the prestigious Suvarna Karnataka Rajyotsava award by the Karnataka State Government. ((Daughter of Dr. H. A. Katti and Smt Bharati Katti, Sangeeta was born in Dharwad, significantly on the Saraswati pooja day of Dasara as a child prodigy in music, 7th October 1970. Sangeeta received her initial lessons in music from her father and she was fortunate to have the blessings of the Legendary Sangeet Samrat Naushad Ali at the age of 4, which paved her way to learn Hindustani Classical music. Trained initially under Sri Sheshagiri Dandapur and Pt. Chanderashekhar Puranikmath, Sangeeta received the advance training in classical Vocal from Padmabhushan Pt. Basavaraj Rajguru of Kirana & Gwalior Gharana for about 12 years. She is presently under the tutelage of Padmavibushana Gana Sarswati Smt Kishori Amonkar of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana.

Sangeeta has a rich performance experience in Hindustani Vocal as well as Bhajans, Vachanas, Dasavani, Abhangs, Bhavageet and Playback singing. She is a regular feature in most of the important music festivals in India and abroad. Sangeeta, as on today has over 2500 concerts to her credit, her very first performance being at the age of 4. Blessed with a unique sonorous voice, she has a wide range of singing versatility and modulation which is evident in her albums in classical, devotional, light music and playback singing. She also has a teaching experience as a faculty in Hindustani Vocal music at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore. ((Sangeeta has bagged several meritorious awards for her melodious compositions and albums. Leading recording companies like Master Rec. Co., Chennai, HMV, Lahari Rec. Co and Sangeet Sagar etc.have released a good number of Audio Cassettes and CD's of Sangeeta. She has the privilege of having worked with the leading Music directors and sung with the leading Maestros in music, and is an A grade artist in Classical and Light Music both on AIR and TV. ((Having successfully toured all over UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Singapore etc. Sangeeta is now ready to dazzle in Auckland, New Zealand.
